Tanya Roberts, Bond Girl and Charlie’s Angels star, has died

Famous American actress Tanya Roberts passed away at the age of 65 on Monday evening in Los Angeles. The news was confirmed by her partner, Lance O’Brien, to the newspaper “The New York Times” this Tuesday (5). On Sunday, it was reported that Tanya – who starred in ‘A View to a Kill’ with Roger Moore in 1985 – had been rushed to a Los Angeles hospital after collapsing at home on Christmas Eve.

In 1976, she debuted in the horror film “The Last Victim”, but Roberts became best known for her turns as Julie Rogers on ABC’s Charlie’s Angels, joining the show in its fifth season, in 1981, to replace an exiting Shelley Hack. Roberts’ best-known film role was in ” A View to a Kill”, in 1985, where she played geologist Stacey Sutton, Bond’s principal love interest and a key ally in the battle against Christopher Walken’s villainous industrialist Max Zorin.

She also appeared in films such as “The Beastmaster” (1982), “Sheena: Queen of the Jungle”(1984), and “Body Slam” (1986). In 1998, the actress was cast as ditzy Midge Pinciotti, the mother to Laura Prepon’s sardonic teenager Donna, in  That ’70s Show series.

She left the series in 2001 to care for her terminally ill husband, Barry Roberts, who passed away in 2006. Roberts last appeared in an episode of Showtime’s TV adaptation of “Barbershop” in 2005.

The cause of Tanya Roberts’s death hasn’t being announced.
