New year, old series, but new seasons. In 2021, some of the most beloved series will be saying goodbye as they have already announced their final seasons to their fans. I already feel like an orphan of some of those such as “Atypical” and “Dead to me”.

The story of Sam (Keir Gilchrist), a 19-year-old boy on the autistic spectrum will be ending up this year. The date hasn’t been released yet. The thought-provoking, charming and well-received comedy from Netflix has been an underdog and a true gem through the past several years. The series focuses on the Gardner family and their trials through the years.
The series has seen three seasons release so far with the most recent, season 3, releasing on Netflix in November 2019. The renewal for Atypical came in February 2020 when Deadline announced that the show has been renewed for a final season.
Black Lightning (The CW Network)
The CW series with the DC Comics characters is the upcoming fourth season that it is the last one. The Black Lightning TV show is based on DC Comics characters and stars Cress Williams, Christine Adams, China Ann McClain, Nafessa Williams, James Remar, Marvin Jones III, and Damon Gupton.
In the series, Jefferson Pierce (Williams) is a former Olympic athlete, a respected educator, and a family man. He’s also Black Lightning, the superpowered protector of the city of Freeland who can sense and harness electricity. His daughters Anissa (Williams) and Jennifer (McClain) also have powers and superhero personas of their own. Lynn Stewart (Adams) is Jefferson’s ex-wife and an expert in metahuman medicine and they are still very much in love. Together, the Pierce family faces the challenges of a declined urban community, including infamous gangster, Tobias Whale (Jones III), and a menacing gang that calls itself The 100.

Dead to Me (Netflix)
Dead to Me on Netflix is returning for a third season, which will also sadly be it’s last. After two excellent seasons, the series starring Linda Cardellini and Christina Applegate promises to unfold its main mysteries. Dead to Me is a Netflix Original black-comedy series created by Liz Feldman. The series has fast become one of the most-watched comedy series on Netflix, having amassed an audience of over 30 million worldwide in the first season.
The soul of the series belongs to the chemistry between Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini. On-screen together they have been electric, making for some truly hilarious comedy, and heart-wrenching drama.
The Expanse (Amazon)
The popular science fiction drama series The Expanse that explores the depth of humanity against the far-spanning reaches of the known universe, debuted its fifth season in December 2020 and Amazon has already announced that it will end in the sixth season, which is expected to take place in 2021.
The Expanse is set in the future where humanity has colonized the solar system and the people of Earth, Mars and the Asteroid Belt have long been in opposition with one another. When the crew of the Rocinante uncovers an ancient alien technology, a vast conspiracy begins to emerge — one that will bring the solar system to the brink of war.
His Dark Materials (HBO/BBC)
HBO and BBC One have renewed the drama for a third run with the eight-episode season set to close the story. The latest season, which is based on Philip Pullman’s novels, one of the supreme works of imaginative fiction for both children and adults published in the 20th century begins production in Cardiff, Wales in 2021.
His Dark Materials introduces Lyra, an orphan, who lives in a parallel universe in which science, theology and magic are entwined. Lyra’s search for a kidnapped friend uncovers a sinister plot involving stolen children and turns into a quest to understand a mysterious phenomenon called Dust. In The Subtle Knife, she is joined on her journey by Will, a boy who possesses a knife that can cut windows between worlds. As Lyra learns the truth about her parents and her prophesied destiny, the two young people are caught up in a war against celestial powers that ranges across many worlds and leads to a thrilling conclusion in The Amber Spyglass.
Money Heist (Netflix)
The Spanish drama series Money Heist (also known as La Casa De Papel), is officially returning for a fifth and final season on Netflix in 2021. After repeating the formula for success to exhaustion, now we will truly have the end of the series that holds the current record of being the most-watched non-English title on Netflix. Once again, for the fourth season, the series smashed all of the previous records it set. The fourth part of Money Heist managed to rack up an incredible 65 million views.

Lucifer season 6 is set to be the final season of the beloved series which came to Netflix from Fox. Its sixth season is set to release on Netflix in either late 2021 or 2022. The DC Comics series promises of bringing emotion for the farewell of the devil played by Tom Ellis.
The series follows Lucifer Morningstar has decided he’s had enough of being the dutiful servant in Hell and decides to spend some time on Earth to better understand humanity. He settles in Los Angeles – the City of Angels.
Netflix’s acclaimed crime drama “Ozark” is returning for a fourth – and final – season, bringing the Byrde’s family criminal relationship with the Navarro drug cartel to a dramatic conclusion.
The popularity of Ozark has skyrocketed, becoming one of the best Originals on Netflix to date. In April 2020, we got word that the series ranks among the most-watched titles of all time. Just under 30 million people watched the third season.
